Thanks so much for coming to visit me on my new home on the Web! The thing about being a writer is, we pretty much work in isolation. The only chance I get to meet the people who read my books is when I am on tour, and then I only get to talk to a few of you. This gives us the chance to connect, and for me to share a little of my life with you.
The most important things to know about me is that I'm a mother (of three boys, ages 22, 15, and 10), a wife, an avid reader, and a writer. We have a big old house -- it was built in 1894 -- that is always full of children. Boys (and the occasional intrepid girl) race through the house in waves, hang over the porch railings, ride bicycles and scooters and skateboards on every available surface, play basketball and hide and seek and flashlight tag in the yard, and in general keep the place hopping. Our dogs (we have three, a German Shepherd, a Corgi, and a wonderful mixed breed) generally join in the mayhem with noisy enthusiasm, while the cats (we have three of those, too) look on with disdain. The only time it's quiet at my house is between midnight and six a.m., and not even then when my college-age son is home with his college-age hours.
Books -- to read, to write -- have always been an integral part of my life. I'm always reading something, and I'm pretty much always writing, too. I write romantic suspense novels -- thrillers -- which are fun and exciting and challenging and demanding and exhausting (when I'm close to the end and the words are coming fast) all at the same time. I also, less frequently now, write historical romance novels. My latest book is Vanished, a haunting, sexy thriller that I absolutely loved working on. There's an excerpt from Superstition, which will be out in paperback in May, too.
Poke around, have fun, and thanks for visiting!
